Dear Alan
It’s hard to believe that we are approaching the third anniversary of our partnership in Rwanda. The opportunity to act as a “beta” site for the Waterbox has been an extraordinary gift to us. We hope that our reports on the operation of the device have helped you as well.
As you know, we founded the CCHIPS project in the Northern Province of Rwanda. The project mission is to develop and apply a model for the improved delivery of primary health care in rural Africa. In cooperation with the government of Rwanda, we have operated two government owned health centers as laboratories to develop and test improved processes and procedures for health care delivery. We will begin to apply the model to multiple health centers beginning in January 2010.
We use the Waterbox to provide fresh drinking water for our project team and for the staff of one of the health centers. We fill 20 liter jerry cans and smaller containers on a daily basis. Initially, we started with the hand pumped model, and graduated to the powered model last year.
Both models have operated flawlessly. We have never had a mechanical breakdown. In the period we have been using them, the time between filter replacements has steadily increased.
Again, Alan, we thank you and the team at Seldon for a great product and a great relationship.
Best regards,
Rosalie S. Wyman
